10.10 Smarter Working at Scottish Forestry and Scottish Government – Presentation by Bastian Altrock, Scottish Forestry, and Vivien Gordon, Scottish Government.

Conversations about how the organisation should work after the pandemic led to more wide-ranging discussions about where people should work and what the workspaces should look like, plus a lot of organisational change added into the mix. Vivien will then take us through the cooperation between Scottish Government and Scottish Forestry to implement the changes.

The presentation will also cover Scottish Forestry’s approach to corporate sustainability, and how they take into account where people are working.

  • Best practices in making workplaces more sustainable as well as better environments for working
  • The benefits of going beyond compliance
  • The evidence base for the environmental impacts of flexible ways of working, and how they can relate to business benefits
  • The wider picture of the relationship between the natural environment and better ways of working
  • Potential impacts of new ways of working for more sustainable communities

The aim of the workshop session is to capture and share best practices and new ideas from all participants, to help us all move forward creating more sustainable places to work and more sustainable ways of working. Is there an ideal model we can adopt?
